In this article published by the telegraph, Slumdog Millionaire is accused of reinforcing old stereotypes and clichés. The film is thought to have given a bad representation of India as it only showed the slums that’s attached to gangs and violence. The film also got negative feedback by India as it was not deemed fit that a western director could show what “real India” is. This review encourages people to watch the news and do their own research about India before blindly following the stereotypes that are portrayed in the film. The film is told through an episode of Indian “Who want’s to be a millionaire” and is said to be more implausible as the questions go on in the review.
