Completing this unit was a very difficult and hard process, one of the first hurdles I faced was that I just couldn’t pin point on what I wanted to show in relation to dreams. however after watching a couple of films and videos about being in a Coma (a heightened dreamstate) I finally thought of an idea; however that’s when even more obstacles came about. I initially wanted to make a film; I had made a script for it and was fully prepared to shoot. However I found it difficult to find a team of people to act and to help me with equipment so after a long time of worrying I finally thought of a solution; Photography. Another difficulty was that i had a entire script with dialogue and I couldn’t just throw it all away so I decided to make a leap of faith and turn my work into a multimedia/audio piece. When I had collected all my sound bites thanks to a couple of my friends who voice acted and I did my own narrations I decided to finally take my photos. I took my first two photos with a DSLR, They were really good quality and I was very proud of them but I had a duration of time with camera and when I was ready to take more photos I had to return my camera and I wouldn’t be able to shoot the next day as my character wouldn’t be available the next day. To combat this I decided to just take the photos on my phone. The downgrade of the quality is quite obvious however when I edited it all in photoshop I feel it made the whole image quirky and unique. I made 3 out of 4 of my photos black and white to create a dark feel but also it’s a helpful idea as black and white photos are easier to edit and manipulated.
